Yekaterinburg, Russia, is set to be a hub of cultural and entertainment activities on August 30. Here's a rundown of the exciting events that will take place:

The Sverdlovsk State Philharmonic will host the opening of the international Vera Lotar-Shevchenko Piano Competition at the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic, starting at 18:00. Admission to this event is free, but tickets must be obtained in advance from the philharmonic's box office.

Meanwhile, the motorcycle club "Shigirsky Idol MSS" will close the 2025 motorcycle season with a group ride on motorcycles, starting at 13:00 from Revolution Square in Nevyansk.

The summer geek theater will be open, featuring animated films and science pop lectures. The "GeekCon" Festival of Geek Culture, taking place in Yekaterinburg, will also be a highlight. Artem Gabrelyanov, the creator of the Bubble universe, and the creators of the Metal Family series, Alina Kovaleva and Dmitry Vdovenko, will be present at this event.

The traditional festival lecture hall will operate, offering lectures about podcasts, science, and games.

A concert will take place at the Palace of Culture of Metallurgists in Serov and Monetny village, as part of the cultural project "Revitalizing Traditions". The philharmonic will perform in Serov at 15:00, while the concert in Monetny village is scheduled for the same time.

The music festival "MoneFest" will take place in Yekaterinburg's Mayakovsky Park. This festival will feature performances covering various genres, including rock, punk, pop, and hip-hop. Invited guests from the Sverdlovsk region, including satti slayed, "Berez Band", "Not for Everyone", and other groups and performers, will perform at the festival. The event will also feature a grand cosplay show, dance flash mobs, meetings with headliners, and representatives of comic book publishers.

The Middle Urals Nationalities Day will take place on the last Sunday of summer at Mayakovsky Park in Yekaterinburg. This day will feature over 20 national pavilions showcasing traditional music, cuisine, costumes, and crafts. The day will also include a crafts market, workshops, interactive zones, children's play areas, and performances by creative groups from various ethnic groups and the Ural State Academic Russian Folk Chorus.

A special program block during the Middle Urals Nationalities Day will honor the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This block will include a concert program, archival photos of veterans, and soldier's porridge for visitors.

Serov is participating in the cultural project "Revitalizing Traditions" ahead of the philharmonic's 90th anniversary.

Lastly, the "Around" group is presenting the performance "Where Will I Stop" at the SINARA ART Gallery in Ekaterinburg on August 30, 16:00.
